Equestrians!

Those Amaretto horses sure got popular fast... People love their breedable pets!

And yes, I have been listening in the Zooby group from time to time. People have said that their babies have nothing to wear while out on horseback with their kids.

I refuse to do cowboy things. I'm sure plenty of the Zooby affiliate stores out there will do very cute cowboy outfits. But... it's just not in the Sweet Penelope style. We here try to be cute and sophisticated rather than just cute.

Whether we achieve this or not is uh... totally another discussion. But! Instead of the cowboy outfits, we have put out equestrian wear very similar to the Pikeur jackets worn during riding competitions!

The outfit comes in three different versions: Two cropped jackets in tan for the boy and pink for girl, and a full-length jacket in pink for the girl. Lots of choices for you to pick from!

And of course they come with a very adorable little prim collar with a bow (tan or pink) to put on your baby while you hold him or her and ride that favourite Amaretto horse!

Happy Birthday!

My daughter, Penelope Wardark, was born on December 14th, 2009, at 4:48pm. She weighed 7lb 8oz and I fell in love with her instantly. So much, that I've now devoted an entire chain of baby clothes all to her: Sweet Penelope!

And today is her one year birthday! I can't believe it's already been an entire year. So... to celebrate this momentous occasion, I'm putting out her very special Birthday Girl outfit for sale in the store for L$50 on December 14th only!

That's only enough to cover the cost of the scripts required to make the clothes! It's a steal!! There will most likely only be about 20 copies in there... So once they run out, that's it! On the 15th of December, they will return back to the store at the full price.

BIRTHDAY GIRL:
This is a pink silk and lace dress with "Birthday Girl" embroidered on the chest. It comes with white silk stockings and the cute ballerina shoes seen in Snow Queen and Burberry Ballerina! And of course included is a mini fur bolero!

Snowflake Sweater

Outfit #4 in the Winter 2010 collection! This one is geared towards boy, even though girls will have no problems wearing it, as Penny is in the picture above. A red sweater with snowflakes and the burberry logo, on top of a simple burberry-print shirt and white t-shirt. The dark denim pants are rolled up to show the warm burberry inset.

The outfit also comes with the simple burberry-printed scarf. If you insist on using Phoenix instead of Viewer 2.0, be sure to go and update it today! The 1.5.2+ version has added the "Add" feature for prims and clothing layers. Now wearing Sweet Penelope prim attachments is even easier than ever!

And don't miss tomorrow's ultra-secret, ultra-special sale. A birthday girl outfit for only L$50! While supplies last!

Re: Hair for your baby?

Well, I see this popping up in chat a whole of a lot, so I'll try to answer these two questions here for you!

"Sweet Penelope has hair in the pictures! Do Zoobies now come with hair?"
No, they don't. I got sick of my baby always having an almost-bald head, or a pathetic little bowtie with a tuft of hair. So, with the aid of Photoshop, I've added hair to her cute little face in all the clothing advertisements. Again, the hair is photoshopped! My baby is just as bald as yours. :(

"Sweet Penelope has a hat attachment now! Is it possible to do the same with hair?"
Not at this time. This question opens up a whole can of worms that I hate to deal with. So let me try to answer this in stages:

  1. Sweet Penelope's coats, hats, scarves, and hoodies attach to you, not your baby. They don't interact with the Zooby at all. It's very clever positioning and design, that's all!
  2. When you hold or rez your baby, watch her head. She likes to look left, right, up, and down, examining her surroundings just like any baby would. In order for "attachment" hair to look natural on her, it would need to also move left, right, up, and down, in time with her head.
  3. To achieve something like this, you would have to be one hell of an LSL scripter. The script would have to account for your height and how it factors in with the baby, for the rotation of the hair, for the timing of the baby's head's movements (which appear to be set on a randomly generated timer and direction), and for various sim lag that could make her hair turn left before her head actually does. In a nutshell? It would only work in a super-controlled environment, and probably for only about 10 seconds before your baby's hair starts doing an impression of Donald Trump's toupee.
  4. The easiest solution would be for Carrie Tatsu and her scripters to implement hair directly onto their Zooby babies. Attached to their heads, it would move seamlessly whenever they turned to look left, or right, or wherever. It would also work when you rez your baby and let her crawl around, instead of only when you hold her.
  5. In order for your baby to crawl around on the ground, she needs to be set to Physical in the object properties. An object with more than 32 prims can't be set to physical! So Zooby has developed quite a neat system of using a single prim and allowing it to take form of any item you want. In the future, your babies will have hair. You just have to be patient!
UPDATE: Because Zooby Baby loves you, Carrie is working on quite the update for the babies. I have seen one of the new features first-hand, and I must say... I wished I was wearing a diaper myself because I almost wet my pants with excitement. Here is a quote from the official notecard, in case you missed it:
In a few months we will begin development on updating the Zooby Baby.  The update will allow things like long hair, different colored hair,  jewelry, scarves, boots, long dresses, neko tails, elf ears, a variety of different shaped hats, additional prims for holiday costumes, you name it!  Everything you ever requested we will try to add.  In addition,  the baby will be able to play with new toys, eat from a highchair, and even learn to walk.  We are currently working on a product now that uses something we named "XPrims", prims that can become anything.  We hope to have this product completed in January.  As soon as it is completed we plan to take the code from this new product and use it when we update the Zooby Baby.

Please do not IM me asking me when the Zooby Baby will be updated or if it is already updated.  I promise you, I will keep you personally informed in the group.  And trust me, the update will be well worth the wait.

Carrie Tatsu

I hope that's cleared up some air about this... Any other questions? Feel free to IM or notecard me!

Santa's Lil Helper

We saw some snow bunnies. Now it's time for Santa's little helpers! A simple red dress with a silk green belt and fur trim is perfect for sitting under the Christmas tree. Soft cotton stockings and fur-trimmed ballet-style shoes keep your babygirl's legs warm. A simple diamond rests on a red silk cord around her neck.

The outfit is supplemented by TWO of Sweet Penelope's patented attachments: Santa hat, and a mini fur bolero. This is where I try to sell you on Viewer 2.2+ again, because if you want to wear both at the same time? You can only do it with 2.2 or higher. Besides, 2.3 now lets you set your in-game name to anything you want. Tired of chicks hitting on your baby's daddy with you standing right there? Then get a matching last name in 2 seconds flat! How adorable is that?

But if you insist on using Phoenix, you're gonna have to wear either pick between bolero and hat, or spend a few excruciating minutes adjusting one of them to fit on your baby by attaching it to R. Forearm 2. If you pick this route, I highly recommend making a copy of the original first!

Snow Bunnies

The second outfit of Winter 2010 is here! It's called "Snow Bunny" and it's perfect to dress your child in when you're thinking of going to that new ski resort a few sims over! And finally, after a long period of being biased towards girly outfits only, I've split this outfit into boys' and girls'!

The girls' outfit comes with a little fur-trimmed dress. The boys' outfit is a jumper with fur-trimmed pant cuffs. Both of these set come with two versions of a prim fur bunny hood. Wear it up or wear it down; either way, it's sure to keep your baby warm this winter!

Snow Queen

When I was a little kid, I used to watch an old Soviet movie called "The Snow Queen." It was my favourite holiday movie, even though looking back on it, it was really kind of depressing.

The wardrobe in that movie was really amazing, though! So with that in mind, I set out to make the first outfit of the Winter 2010 Collection: "Snow Queen."

This cute little blue and white sparkle dress comes complete with little ballerina shoes, fur trim, and even a tiny little sapphire necklace.

And of course it wouldn't be a winter outfit without a prim attachment! This time we've got a beautiful little fur bolero you can throw over your girl -- perfect to wear with any outfit, not just this one!

Burberry Ballerina

Introducing the last addition to the Autumn 2010 Collection!

Yes, we're back to burberry print again! Just because it's cold and dark and rainy outside, doesn't mean your babygirl has to look just as gloomy! Dress her in this cute little outfit, complete with a cotton shirt, burberry-printed skirt, cotton leggings, and a pair of sweet ballerina shoes!

And of course the tradition of optional prim attachments continues! This time you can give your little girl an adorable little burberry scarf to wear while you hold her!

Juicy Pink Punk

Outfit #3 of the Sweet Penelope Autumn 2010 Collection is out today!

This new outfit features something I instantly fell in love with when I saw it - a frilly tulle skirt, held up by a studded black and silver belt! Nothing makes a girl feel more like a princess than a big, utterly floofy skirt. To complete the sweet punky look, the top is a striped 3/4 sleeve sweater with the Juicy Couture logo on the front. And to keep your baby's legs warm, I've given her a pair of pink loose socks - you know they're always all the rage in Japan! The little black shoes feature the Juicy Couture crown logo.

I'm also trying out another new feature to the Sweet Penelope outfits - an optional prim puffy vest! Just like the hoodie from the white tracksuit, this vest attaches to your right forearm and sits comfortably around the baby's torso when held in Holding or Bottlefeed AO positions.

Special Note: Maybe I'm just slower than everyone else since I never read viewer updates, but I discovered a new feature in Viewer 2.0 that might make those of you that use it very happy in regards to this new prim vest:
To wear more than one thing on the same attach point, simply right-click "Wear" the first item from your inventory, then right-click "Add" on the second item from your inventory. So to wear a prim jacket sleeve on your forearm and the prim baby vest, select "Wear" on your sleeve, then right-click and select "Add" on the baby vest. And voila! You are now wearing your jacket sleeve / bracelet / arm warmer and the prim baby vest!
Is that not the coolest thing you've ever heard? Now we REALLY don't need Phoenix anymore! >:) Anyway, outfit is now available at the main store!

And I've got to add a special note for my BFF Phacia: You really brought back the "Afro Puff" look! I will be stealing more styling tips from you soon!

Juicy Couture Tracksuit

The Sweet Penelope Autumn 2010 Collection introduces its second outfit - Juicy White Tracksuit with optional hoodie! This precious white velvet outfit is inspired by a Juicy Couture baby hoodie. Included with the normal clothing box is an optional hoodie that attaches to your right forearm, giving your baby a pretty prim hoodie when you are using either Holding or Bottlefeed options from the AO.

Please note that this optional prim hoodie only works on Zooby Babies, and will not look right on Newborns! Also, if you wear a stroller or a baby carrier, or place your baby into any position other than Holding/Bottlefeed, the prim hoodie will mess up!

The good news is that the outfit is fully functional and has a cute painted-on hoodie in the back if you would like to place your baby into a stroller, or dress your newborn in the tracksuit instead!

Designer Diaper Bags!

Four new diaper bags are now available both in the store and on the new XStreetSL Marketplace! Currently there are two styles to choose from:

  • Louis Vuitton - These female diaper bags come in the classic monogram, the pink, and a blue LV print. Each bag has a teddybear, a baby bottle, and a pair of diapers stuffed into the pockets!
  • Kenneth Cole - This male diaper bag comes in a stylish black leather, and sits around daddy's waist, leaving his hands free to hold his son or daughter! Also included with the baby bottle, the teddybear, and the pair of diapers!

Both styles are transfer, and make great Baby Shower gifts, or as a treat for yourself and your baby! Please see these two images if you would like to see just how the diaper bags are worn, with or without your Zooby baby!

Brrrrr it's getting a little chilly, don't you think? And I bet your baby does too! So this autumn dress your babygirl in style with this red burberry coat!

- Red coat with burberry print on the cuffs.
- White winter leggings.
- Red thigh-high socks with burberry cuffs.
- Little brown maryjanes.

As always, this coat is available at the NEW Sweet Penelope store! That's right, I've finally bought myself some land and set the store up, even decorated it for autumn a little bit...

Stop by and check it out! And yes, the boy version of this outfit is coming soon!

Gorean/Peasant Boy Outfit

This is the boy version of the Gorean/Peasant dress outfit. Instead of a dress with fur corset, it comes with some soft suede pants and a fur vest. Perfect for any medieval or Gorean roleplay!

This item is available in a very limited quantity on XStreet, or in the main store!

... just remember to set the pant sculpts option in your baby's clothing menu, or it'll just look weird!

Gorean/Peasant Girl Outfit

Today's new release is a Gorean-themed peasant dress!

I noticed there aren't very many clothing options for Zooby babies if people want to roleplay with them in any Gorean or medieval environment. So I put together a cute little peasant dress.

It comes with a dress featuring torn sleeves and collar, a fur corset and moccassins, suede leggings, and some simple suede cords with little white feathers attached at the arms and ankles! The dress is styled to be worn on any baby of a peasant class, with no fancy fabrics or ornamental designs.

As always, you can head to Sweet Penelope main store to pick up your copy, or check out XSL for limited amounts of the dress!

The boy version with suede pants instead of leggings is coming soon!

New Outfit: Burberry Dress!

The Zooby scripts have finally been released, and after hours and hours of making separate textures, making notecards, compiling boxes, etc etc... the first Sweet Penelope outfit is released!

It's a burberry-print dress, fashioned similar to what Suri wore on one of her outings with Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise.

Currently there are 6 copies of the dress inside the vendor in the shop. If you would like to purchase a copy, hurry into Sweet Penelope and grab yours today! If the vendor is out, do not despair. I will add more copies of the dress ASAP!

Hugs & Cuddles,
Aurore Clarity.

Baby Furnitures!

While waiting for Zooby to make their clothing scripts available, I've put out a few little things around the shop for you to browse!
The first is the Sweet Penelope Highchair which comes in a rich dark wood, or a lovely white finish. And the best part? It's only 1 prim! If you're anything like me, you've bought everything there is to buy furniture-wise from Zooby and have completely run out of prims because of it! And if you're anything like me, you want your baby boy or girl to be able to join you at the dinner table. So what better way to make this happen than by putting down a hair chair for him or her that only takes up 1 prim?

No, my chairs aren't scripted to work with Zooby babies. But you don't really need a script to make your baby sit in them (as you can see from the picture on the left).

1. Rez the chair and position in room.
2. Rez your baby to the floor.
3. Right-click EDIT your baby.
4. Use the red, green, and blue arrows to position your baby in the chair.
The other product that I'm making available is a baby mobile called "Hearts Over My Baby." The mobile comes with an on/off switch that toggles its spinning and the soft lullaby that it plays.
The mobile comes in a set of two - one for a boy, and one for a girl! So why not go check it out today? The white version of the chair and the pink version of the mobile are rezzed in-world at the store for you to see and test for yourself!

And as always, stay tuned for updates on the actual Sweet Penelope clothing line!

Zooby clothing templates!

[9:56] Carrie Tatsu: We are thinking about allowing people to make and sell their own baby clothing..what do you guys think of this idea?

And so Sweet Penelope is born. I know how to use photoshop, I know how to use scripts. How hard can it be, right?!

(Famous last words?)
